Free 4K Sparkle Lightleak / Optical Effect

Here is my third 4K light leak - available for free download (and also you can watch it it in 4K / UHD on YouTube)

This, along with the rest, will all be collected on a special page, so bookmark it. This one is a bit different, with a rainbow diffraction / sparkly feel to it - perhaps like an old 70s optical effect from a movie. Check it out...





You can use it as a background - or more likely, composite over footage. I have seen a few editors combine this with the other leaks to give them an extra special look.

Second free 4K light leak download - film burn / glow style

These fade up from black making them ideal to be used to transition from one clip to the next in your edit timeline. They have a 'film burn' feel to them. 7 in total in this one download. Speed them up and reverse them for more variation if you need it!

Light leak app - on sale today

I've made a collection of light leaks available on here for use by video editors and compositors. But what if you like the look, but don't know your Avid from your FinalCut? Well now you can access and use these clips on your iOS device easily.

Ben Wong has created a cool app for your iPhone or iPad that allows you to add my light leaks as well as other cool looks really easily.

Swirling light leak - free HD download

A swirling, ghostly light leak. Light flickering through ice. Created with low level sun near the Arctic Circle, which is great for making these. Ideal as a background / backdrop / composite over titles or footage OR maybe use as transition. Speed up for a crazy wipe!

Free to download - HD Plasma style background, blurred sea waves

This HD backdrop texture can be used as either a background for titles, or as a component to layer over other footage. It is constantly moving and morphing and makes a great alpha channel. Feel free of course to change the hue or gamma to suit. In reality this is a shot of waves breaking, shot at 50% speed.

Real lens flare wipe - free HD download

A real light edge wipe, made by passing light through inch-thick glass. You can use it by compositing over your own wipes / transitions. There are several wipes in this one clip. Some go from white to white, some from black to white - this gives you the maximum flexibility in terms of using it with alpha effects. For even more options you can flip it, reverse it, mirror it etc.
